Appreciating What’s Right in Front of Me.
On foot with a camera, or just riding my Vespa scooter, my perception of the world around me grows. I see more. Appreciate more. And in the end, find contentment in even the most stressful situations.
I place few requirements on myself during these jaunts and journeys. Slowly traveling, loose plans, and a minimum of tools and technology.
What happens when you ride?
Can you be content on short rides through familiar landscapes or do you require travel to distant places? I suppose what works for one may be a bore for another.
For me, I try to have few expectations of my rides and even fewer for the experience.

Another great one.

Thanks Ken. They’re getting shorter and shorter!

Once again I am left with the feeling that the world is a better place than I often give it credit for being. Beautifully done, Steve.
P.S.: I was particularly drawn to the shot of your Vespa parked by the creek with the thin layer of fog hovering in the background…simply wonderful.
Steve Williams says
The world is what we imagine it to be. Side by side, two people can see the same thing in entirely different ways. As much as possible I try to see things in a positive light. That’s not always an easy thing to do.
I love finding myself standing along a misty stream with the scooter. That doesn’t happen nearly often enough. Can’t remember the last time I left the house at 5am in order to see some of that mist!

Wonderful Steve, just wonderful! Great scenes, calming voice…brought me peace just watching and listening. Of course I STILL wish I had your back roads here!
Steve Williams says
Quiet, country roads can go a long way toward finding a calm place. I know a lot of riders though who would never ride the roads I do because you can’t travel fast enough for their taste.
Thanks for the kind words about the video. I appreciate them.

So happy that you are able to fully appreciate the Works of God in Creation and the Work of God in Redemption in Christ Jesus. Have a great week!

It’s a gift when I can be open to the gifts all around me. I often find myself asking God why I’m so lucky…

Found serenity is always present for me I have to slow down enough to capture it…Truly another great clip from you ..Your Vespa to me is always the centerpiece regardless of the position in the shot …Thanks for your gift of sharing to all of us motor heads●
Steve Williams says
Thank you Don for your kind words about the video. When I’m riding and making photographs, if I include the Vespa, I try and make it an integral part of the landscape rather than just a portrait of a machine. I confess an obsession with it as a subject but I’ve not yet exhausted its place before the camera.

Like poetry in motion Steve.
Steve Williams says
Perhaps next time it will have more motion. I’m thinking I need to try some full-motion video in place of the still imagery. As you know, that’s a much bigger challenge.
David Eakin says
I recommend submitting your videos to WITF as they frequently show “shorts” pertaining to Central PA in between their main programming.
Steve Williams says
Thanks for the head’s up David. I’ll have to do some investigation. There could be some issues with the music license I use. I can use it on the internet but broadcast television is a different realm.
More investigation.
