Countdown to the Photo Exhibition
It takes more time and energy than I remembered to get a photography show ready. That works takes away from riding and subsequently writing blog posts. I haven’t had an unfortunate accident. I am nearly ready to hang the show.
The yard sign in the photo above stands in front of the house to allow any interested neighbors passing by a chance to think about seeing the show.
In the meantime, I’m beat and going to sleep. In six days I’ll be hauling all the photographs to the gallery to do the installation.
So tired…
Kathy says
I’m hoping it’s a good kind of tired. I’m excited for your exhibition and hopeful I will actually get to see it in person.
Steve Williams says
I see light at the end of the tunnel. The opening is not far off now!
Barry Donovan says
I wish I lived closer or had travel plans around that area as I would love to see it. Best to you on your show!
Steve Williams says
Thank you Barry. I’ll be posting a closer view of the show in a week or so that will provide a simulated experience — sans wine and cheese!
Frank Armstrong says
YEA!!!
Steve Williams says
Man, so many details to take care of for a little show like this Frank. But I’m glad I’ve done it. Full speed ahead!
Will says
Steve, if the poster is any indication of the pieces you’re exhibiting, and I know it is, the show will be sublime. I love your words and I love your images, wish I could be there but it’s a long ride from California.
Steve Williams says
Thanks for the kind words Will. I’m hope to share a bit of the fine world of riding the Vespa.
It would be a long ride from California to central Pennsylvania. But what an adventure it would be on the scooter!
Brenda Foster says
We’ll be there Steve. Wouldn’t miss it for the world – brenda
Steve Williams says
Look forward to meeting you. Safe travels!
Robert says
Sleep well and dream of scoots.
Steve Williams says
I’m sleeping well but never dream of scooters. Or riding. What’s that about?
lostboater says
Is there a catalog of the event photos? I have a lot of wall space in my new garage just for things like this.
Steve Williams says
The short answer — yes, there will be something that will afford access to prints of the images in the show along with others. I’ll have that up in the next couple weeks. Perhaps sooner.
A big winter Vespa picture is exactly what you need in your new garage! It will help keep you cool on hot days.
Steve Brooke says
Shirley and I attended a Rally in Wellsboro over this past weekend and I managed to massage a few old favourite paths that eventually led to Saints … Alas, much too early for your show but we hope to get down if we can find a window in August … I’m certain it we be a great success …
Steve Williams says
You were at Saint’s? You should have let me know. Or maybe I was there when you were and we didn’t even know it!
Hope to see you at some point down the road.
RichardM says
Only a bit over a week…
What is the goal of the show? Notoriety? Print sales?
Or is there a goal?
Steve Williams says
Those are really good questions Richard. Really good.
From the beginning, my goal was merely to share a bit of the experience of riding in central Pennsylvania and some of the visual and mental discoveries I’ve had. I entered this without any concern for recovering costs, making money or gaining any sort of notoriety. That said, there are a few things I would like to see happen:
1. Some new people checking out my blog.
2. The prints go to new homes. I really don’t want to have to store all the images and frames at home. I would much rather they find a new life with others. With that in mind I produced the prints and frames in a manner that will allow for an economical pricing.
3. And finally, having a show like this forces me into a frame of mind where I’m more intensely focused. It stirs the creative energies and gets me moving in new directions with the camera. I’m itching now to work on another project that’s been on the back burner for a long time.
So that’s the short answer to your questions. I think…
Andy Heckathorne says
Looking forward to it!
Steve Williams says
Hope the rain holds off for a bit this evening. My luck there will be a heavy rain from 5 to 8. Hope to see you this evening.
Bill Bartelt says
I admire your perseverance. Best wishes for a successful exhibit.
Steve Williams says
Thanks Bill. This little show has required some persistence to make sure everything comes together. The photography was the easiest part!
Laurent says
Hello Steve,
Il est dommage que je sois aussi loin, sinon je serais venu…
Hello Steve,
It’s a pity I’m so far, otherwise I would have come …
Laurent from France.
Steve Williams says
I understand. I’ll present a virtual version of the show soon!
Je comprends. Je présenterai bientôt une version virtuelle du spectacle!
