Moto Hang Wants You
Everyone is welcome at the Boalsburg Moto Hang. The next one is in a few hours. 5:30pm to be exact. So plan to stop by either today or the next event. The Moto Hang takes place on the first and third Wednesday evenings of the month. Ken Hull sent out this note which I’ll share:
This Wednesday we will be meeting at the Moto Shack from 5:30 to 7:30. Three things to note: 1. 2017 posters will be available for purchase ($5). 2. We have a porta-john on site. It’s on the other side of the little wooden shed. 3. Please try and arrive closer to the start time of 5:30 and not too much earlier. I need time to get things set up and ready for everyone before bikes start rolling in. Thanks for understanding.
The images below will help illuminate the experience.
One of the group members (I sue the word member liberally. There are really no membership requirements. Just show up.) has made is motorcycle book and video collection available to others.
Not everything is a motorcycle. If it has a motor and two wheels — welcome!
And not everything was built in the past 10 years. This vintage Honda motorcycle was a dream.
Lots of people and machines appear at the Boalsburg Moto Hang. There’s always room for more though.
Get there a little late and you may have to park away from the Moto Shack. My Vespa GTS scooter looks fine in the late day sunshine.
Machines of every stripe and kind.
A vintage Spanish two-stroke motorcycle. I can’t remember the brand.
View inside the Moto Shack.
Whatever you ride — you’re welcome at the Boalsburg Moto Hang.
So remember, first Wednesday of the month (TODAY!) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Moto Shack in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. This map below will provide specific directions to the Moto Hang. Or you can email Ken Hull directly at ken@kenhull.com for more information or to be added to the Moto Hang mailing list.
See you there!

That looks like fun! I’ll have to get Ken to add me to the list. Looks like you could use a random female once in a while. 🙂
Steve Williams says
We’re gender and age challenged. There are female riders that attend regularly but not a lot. And the under 35 crowd is thin as well. So drop Ken a note and get on the list!
Jim says
i will be attending tonight along with a random femal, aka my wife Angela. She is quite random though, I assure you.
Steve Williams says
I had an opportunity to meet Angela but never made my way over to you Jim. Perhaps next time.
Random female… I won’t comment on that. Perhaps she will!
Brent says
Looks great, wish I wasn’t so dang far away. Brent
Steve Williams says
You’ll have to experience things vicariously!

Sounds like a road trip to Boalsburg might be in the offing. Your pics suggest an eclectic mix of Motos hence Moto Folks, throw in The Stevens Motel, Saints Cafe and Brekky at The Original Waffle North … A perfect mid week Moto Diversion ?
Steve Williams says
Seems you have some familiarity with the area. Lots of things to do. The Moto Hang is just one more unique aspect of the community. Sometimes, having lived here for so long, I overlook what we have…
steve says
looks like a hoot!! would love to bring my 78 xl250s out there… 3+ hour ride though. One day hopefully!!
Steve Williams says
There have definitely been some people who have made three hour rides to attend the Moto Hang. If you ever plan to do that you should make sure you get on the mailing list — Ken Hull keeps people updated on changes and such. Just drop him a note — ken@kenhull.com

As I’m scrolling down the page to the first image, my first thought was, “Steve, you grew a beard!”
Sounds (and looks) like a great time. Enjoy!
Steve Williams says
Hah! My beard looks different at that size. Or at least it did the last time it was that size 40 years ago.
Jim Zeiser says
The Spanish two stroke is an Ossa. Bultaco and Montesa were the other two famous brands.
Steve Williams says
I remember Bultaco but the others weren’t part of my awareness. During the Moto Hang last week some other names from the past came up including one I coveted as a kid — the Hodaka Super Rat. Maybe someone will arrive with one down the road.
RichardM says
Eclectic collection of bikes is an understatement. Very nice get together.
Ry Austin says
Mmm, I love the color scheme on that Spanish bike (the Ossa?). Sleek, tasteful–stylish.
