This coming Wednesday evening at 5pm is the next occurrence of the Boalsburg MOTO HANG. The weather forecast promises a fine ride so there should be lots of riders on hand. If you’re within riding distance stop by. A wide range of machines comprise the collective machine show including Harley, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, Honda, KTM, Suzuki, Kawasaki and of course, Vespa.
It’s not a club — just riders who like to get together to look at machines, share stories, and have a good time.
For a quick look at a past gathering check out the Boalsburg Moto Hang.
The MOTO HANG takes place at the barn behind the log house at:
203 East Main Street
Boalsburg, PA 16827

You know, I could do this, Steve. I could make it there in time.
Mapquest figures a bit over 30 hours and 1,955 miles, but it shows I-80 as THE route, which–frankly–would be an incredibly sucky ride. Though I could take the scenic way home…
I guess I’ll have to be satisfied with your post-hang tales and photos (which I sure hope there will be, as the last ones were mighty enjoyable to read and to see).

I’ve been lax in posting about the Moto Hang — something I’ll have to correct. So much happens there that it’s hard to focus on a story. Maybe I should just post pictures.
A thirty hour ride — that’s a story!
RichardM says
Unlike Ry, I don’t think I can make it. Google says 65 hours and 4,046 miles. Plus I’d have to add 50% more time since I’d be relegated to only side roads…
Steve Williams says
Well, a 65 hour ride wouldn’t be out of the question but since I can’t eat hot dogs anymore what’s the point of such a long ride?
Marty M says
It’s 998 miles for me on I-70 from the Kansas coast.
I will return!
Steve Williams says
You could turn it into an Iron Butt ride!
MotoVentures says
Google maps puts me at 1,542 miles (23 hours, 24 minutes). While that puts me closest of the commenters, I still don’t think I can make it! 🙂
Enjoying your blog and pictures…

Marty has you beat now at just under a thousand. Seems like it might be easier to start your own Moto Hang. I bet Ken Hull will provide consulting!
Mike says
There are days when I wished I lived in the vicinity of Boalsburg to join you guys at a Moto Hang. You seem to have a good thing going. No equivalent near to where I live.
Steve Williams says
I’ve spoken to enough riders now that I realize it is unique. In part because of the eclectic collection of machines and riding styles, but also I think because all the riders in attendance are remarkably free of “machine predjudice”. Everyone is open and engaged with others and it’s nothing to see a Harley rider giving a serious look at a Honda Mini Trail or a scooter rider in a serious conversation with someone who arrived on a Goldwing. Not sure how Ken managed to kickstart that sort of community but it’s working. Maybe it’s because his emails always begin with “Hello Moto brothers and sisters”…
Mike says
So nicely put. That fellowship at the Moto Hangs comes through in your writings.
Thanks for answering.
Steve Williams says
Thanks Mike. It’s a good group. Attended another Moto Hang this evening and will post more in the next day or so.
Marty M says
I offered up to Moto Hang the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays before I moved, but nobody has shown yet. 🙂
There are lots of Moto related events here. They will have to do for now.

Ken Hull has some magic power in being about to get people out. One evening there was near sixty motorcycles on site. That’s a lot for a little hang!
