I’m a morning person. Or at least I used to be. Eyes still spring open automatically at 6:05am regardless of when they closed. The mind is ready but the body has begun to resist the transition from horizontal to vertical, from the dream world to the real world. Riding one morning last week I was reminded how I’m seduced by the morning as I watched the light sweep across the fields as the sun breached the horizon. Fog and mist glows as the day begins and I am grateful to be a witness. I know so many people who can’t remember seeing the sunrise, don’t care actually because the bed offers a greater allure.
Not every Vespa ride unwinds as a quiet, zen-like experience. Some mornings are unwelcome packages of rush, stress and chaotic thinking allowing mere glimpses of the world. A quick stop to drink in the day first and forget about placing the scooter in the picture. A few seconds of freedom before moving on into the noise of the day.
On through the day with a taste of the morning lingering on the lips. Oh, the joy of riding…

Hmmm. I may very well rise early one morning now, and ride out just to catch the sunrise. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good luck with morning adventures!

Fully agree… and great, great shots (despite the lack of a Vespa 😉 )

I figured everyone could tolerate a few Vespa free photos!

This morning up here in London Ont was clear cool and beautiful. The engine of my 400 cc Scooter has more power with so much cool oxygen in the air and it feels great with the throttle in you hand. The low Sun can be deadly though with blinding blind spots. An extra look for cars washed out by the blinding sun is a necessity.
Enjoy!

The cool air really does make a difference in the power of an engine.
You’re right about the low sun and blinding light. I can recall a few very uncomfortable rides where I was riding directly into the sun while the sun came up. Terrible torture for a rider.

Steve, I enjoyed those images of such a beautiful morning. Certainly a lot nicer than what I saw outside my window this morning. A little storm is passing through Maine right now.

Kim and I were just watching a video from the south coast of Maine that was posted on thursday morning — rough seas pounding the rocky shore where we usually stay. Most people think sunshine and swimming when they think of the beach. I want the roar and thunder of a heavy sea under a dark sky with the wind blowing salt spray in my eyes. That’s how I know I’m in Maine. I’ve sailed in that and walked in it. I’ll take the walking..

Stretch & yawn to meet the dawn.
Nup. I’m going to lie in this morn.
That’s retirement for you.
Just one thing after another.
Zzzzzzz….!

There are days I wish I could lay in bed like I once could. Getting older has wrecked that ability…
