Seeing Things

January 31, 2006 by Scooter in the Sticks 2 Comments

I was on my way to the Vespa dealer to get a new rear tire and have the oil changed when I saw this horse standing by himself in a field. He was watching me approach. His ears were alert and I new he was paying attention. I pulled over and he walked up to the gate and even though I walked off to the side he kept staring at the scooter. Maybe he thought it was a distant grey cousin or something.

This is what I like about riding the scooter. I see things that I would never see in a car. And even if I did I would NEVER stop. Riding on the scooter has allowed me to experience the area that I call home all over again. Everything is new.

I just love riding.

Yes. Man, you really do “get it”. And your photos illustrate it in such a way that others will too.

    Bravo,

You know, I have always been a “bike” guy. Never really took scooters seriously. After reading some of these blogs, especially your 01/22 posting, I almost have the urge to go out and buy one. You’re right, one would be perfect for errands, etc. Fun, too!

If you have the inclination, I could use a hint. Photography seems to be one of your areas of expertise. It also appears that you use a digital. Since you have successfully put a picture on your profile that manages to show you and the bike you know how to do it. I have figured out the process. My question is how to set the camera for a max of 50k to fit. I would suppose it would be a matter of zooming out and cropping the software.

My e-mail is irondad@comcast.net if you have time and urge to share.

Thanks. Glad I found your blog!
