The photographs below were made for stories and posts on my blog, Scooter in the Sticks.
They reflect some of the riding I’ve done and how it has enhanced expanded my experience of life. Whether on a Vespa scooter, or on any sort of motorcycle, riding has become an important part of my creative life.
The blog is a tool I use to reflect on what I see and feel. The writing and photography helps answer questions that surface while riding. One day I’ll be wondering about risk and the next doing mental mathematics on how many years I have left before I’ll have to hang up the helmet. Regardless of the topic, I find the combination of riding, photography, writing and blogging helps silence the noise between my ears.
But why are you here? Is there really any value in the photographs on the blog? Maybe. If you’re interested in riding a Vespa (or any other two-wheeled machine for that matter) then you may find the images help you make decisions about whether to begin riding, continue riding, or stop riding. Or perhaps you’ll find that whether you’re riding or not, jotting down notes and taking pictures can help you make sense of the noise in your life.
