Every time I see a video depicting a less than civil interaction between a rider and automobile I wonder what is going on in people’s heads. There’s a lot of anger and frustration in the world and it presents itself frequently on the road.
This one, shared by fellow rider Don Barletta, shows a bit of cosmic karma that is pretty satisfying. We can’t really know what led up to this interaction, and the rider may well not be innocent, but regardless I can’t see how the driver of the car could justify their need to engage or educate the rider. And from that perspective it’s a thrill to see the lights start to flash….

Hi Steve. That guy in the black car cutting across all those lanes…in other countries that is normall all day long kind of thing. No one (?) seems to get too frazzled. But in the USA horns blow, fists wave people can be encited to violence just witnessing that. I saw that in Rome. But in Sicily no one much cares about unorthodox driving habits.Or at least it appeared that way.

Paul: I suppose we each have to dwell in the world before us and in this video the driver and rider were in the USA. Judging from the early horn blow, then the screaming driver, and finally the fast acceleration, I just have to wonder if the rider didn’t pull some annoying maneuver earlier. Would be nice to see the 5 minutes before the video started…
Out of context the truth of a situation is just a fabrication.

Steve it would be interesting to see what went on before, though there’s no excuse for the over reaction that we did see and hear. I noticed that the driver in the car to the right of the rider seemed also to be making some sort of hand guesture toward the rider. Was it thumb up or was it finger up? I can’t tell. There’s always two sides to the story.
Steve Williams says
VStar Lady: Definitely would like to see what led up to that. Seldom comes out of nowhere.

I’m curious if the video was made using a helmet camera? There also seemed to be autos in both lanes to the Rider’s Left, which the profane driver in the black car had pulled around, and obstructed their roadway access….

I had a similar experience with a driver having a bad day and looking for someone to target his rage at….I was on my 50 cc at the time….he said his piece and kept driving with me waving saying “bye bye have a nice day”….love seeing the Cop lights come on here.
