Scooter in the Sticks — Again

Vespa GTS scooter and Mt. NittanyVespa repairs complete

Back on the road.  Cold ride home this evening.  Scooter purrs quietly and smooth as butter with a new clutch and drive assembly.  The Heidenau K61 tires are sweet.

Time for a long ride…

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder”………usually of something else, as your contemplation of the “shiny and new” illustrated. But then we view the “beausage” (beautiful usage-from the bicycle lexicon) and the love resurfaces as the memory of our relationship puts an arm around our shoulder and says “remember the time….”

Chalk this up to moto-mechanical curiosity.
How many road miles on that clutch and drive?
And what was the electrical solution.
      Hey if your gonna share………..

Almost 31 thousand miles on the clutch and drive pulleys. And the electrical problem was a dead voltage regulator. I’ll post some pix at some point with my idiotic commentary sometime soon…

“Better than new”, because it’s still familiar, just in better shape. Glad to hear it’s back and nicer than ever.

Melody is a tad overdue for her very first checkup. Need to schedule it next week.

I’m hoping the Vespa is “better than new”. Kim told me basically the same thing. Until I put some more miles on it I can’t say for sure whether the scoot is better than knew. But I’m thinking it is…

What happened to your top box on the back of your Vespa?

I always take it off when I put the scooter in for service. There are lots of little odds and ends that I want to have access to. The GIVI case snaps off with the push of a button.

It does feel great to have the Vespa back. Wet roads and brand new tires has slowed me a bit but I may venture out slowly today to scrub them in…
