They are definitely different with different souls. I have to say I was a little surprised Royal Enfield was upgrading the air-cooled Himalayan. A little more power and a six-speed transmission will be attractive to those riders looking for good torque at relatively low RPMs but still want to be able to cruise the freeway at a little faster pace.

Yes, still riding my Vespa GTS 250ie. Was on it that past couple days. I’ll be posting about it next Friday.

The new tires are surprisingly smooth and quiet considering how aggressive the tread is. And they are much better performers off the pavement than the stock tires were. Like you, I don’t gamble with tires. I replace them early and I don’t pinch pennies either.

I think you have stumbled onto the reason Royal Enfield has two Himalayan’s. One with a modern zoomy engine and the 440 big bore version engine of yours. Soul sometimes counts more than power.

Hey Steve how r the new tires on hard dry pavement..Photo looks like a pretty aggressive tread pattern and glad u got some new rubber, I’m fairly cheap on some things however auto and cycle tires I don’t gamble with at all. Great post and happy trails !!
