Thank you for your kind words David. We both look forward to a little more freedom from the medical and surgical realm. You’re right though, aging is inevitable and a mystery. I never know what to expect when I wake up.

Thanks Dom. She’s plugging away with PT now and determined to manage to have some productive mobility.

You’re absolutely correct about a short ride restoring the spirit and providing perspective on what’s happening in life.

I love the autumn for all the reasons you describe. It goes by so fast now, especially as I get older. Before I know it there will be snow on the ground and I’ll be dreaming of spring.

And thank you for your kind words of support for my wife Daniel. We appreciate them.

Thanks Don. I’m always surprised I have been keeping this blog going since 2005. In that time I’ve been able to examine things going on in my life and with riding. I’ve made friends. And somehow it helps keep my feet on the ground through the good and bad.

Thank you Karl.

The weather this time of year is great for riding. I envy your trip to the beach. I hope to get my wife and I to some beach sometime soon.

I’m sorry that you have to bear the weight of caretaking. Your wife is fortunate to have a man willing and able to provide that kind of support. I think the challenge, or at least one of them, is to make sure we don’t run our batteries too far down. Like you say, a spin around the block takes the edge off of things. And recharges the batteries too.

My wife continues to improve and with it I will hopefully be able to venture a little farther and longer.
