We are indeed fortunate to be in the place we are in terms of time, health, and money. Many opportunities are available to us.

As far as memorizing routes — I’ve always fared well doing that. Part memory exercise, and around here there’s a part where I am familiar with a lot of areas due to the traveling I used to do for work visiting farms and rural locations. It feels like I am failing when I have to check the phone.

It sounds like a great way to get used to the new environment Bill. Riders will appear eventually. Until then you’ll just have to drink more coffee!

Being able to take the time to sit down and eat and chat is definitely relaxing. I need to do more of the kind of things you talk about.

Thank you for taking the time to comment Bill. I appreciate your perspective and positive outlook at the challenges of getting older. I hope I fare as well as you have and can keep riding my scooter at 82. Only ten more years and I’ll know the answer.

A 30 mile bicycle ride, even with battery assist, would be a feat for me already.
