I agree with you Andy about the power of constraints. Some of my best work emerged from constraints of time, tools, or form. Perhaps these videos are another example of just that.

I don’t feel any risk in anything I shoot or create that’s akin to riding a scooter or motorcycle. Apples and oranges.

You’re right in your assessment that I don’t want to talk over the scenes portrayed. The same is true of the text and image posts. Not completely sure of the mechanics at work, but I do tend to keep things low key.

I was hoping the camera would record the sounds I was hearing when I shot the video clip. Early in the morning the forest echoes with bird song.

It’s not so much moving outside my comfort zone as it is exploring an alternative method to communicate. By adding sound and video it opens a door to sharing a more emotive message. At least that’s what I’m thinking.

While everything I share on Scooter in the Sticks is my opinion, I try to avoid telling people what they should or should not do. Expect with winter riding in the snow — don’t do that.

Right now making a video is an exercise in ideation and thought. That’s enough for now. Like other things in my life, I’ll continue until it ceases having value to me. Like shaving and getting my hair cut!

I’d like to add that something I admire about your work is the sense that you don’t try and talk over the scenes your portray. You seem to intentionally get out of the way while also bringing insights that we the viewers may have otherwise missed. It feels authentic. The unvarnished sights and sounds of nature in this video are just beautiful.

I don’t know that song. I’ll have to investigate.

There is a song that reminds me of my Vespa. It’s a song by Low call “Silver Rider.”
