I have been doing a lot of walking aka hiking this summer and it is meditative and soothing. When it's not just plain hard!
Your dog's sweet face is a great motivator to walk! :-)

Embracing a slow travel style of riding and walking has been a gift for me. For exactly the reasons you outline. The amount of experience is greatly increased when I slow down.

Morning walks are great. I almost always do them with the two dogs, and while I love walking with them, they do demand a certain level of attention that can get in the way of unbridled wandering. Especially when other dogs approach. One alone is far easier though that approach would double my daily walking mileage. Not ready for that.

Good luck in your search for autumnal splendour. It's beginning to show here as well.

Are you talking about wandering on two wheels or on foot? Seems you can always wander on foot.

Seems to me that you could do a lot of sky watching when you're boondocking!

Glad you liked it. I try and time publishing for the early morning for all the coffee and tea drinkers who follow Scooter in the Sticks!

We wander about on foot most everyday, sometimes evenings too though rarely in the wee hours. It used to be that all I thought about was riding my motorbike but retirement has help broaden my palette. Sometimes, riding the Moto, I find myself thinking about walking in the attractive environment I happen to be passing through and often a camera in hand. An extension of the slow travel thing? I seem to see so much more au pied. We are currently enjoying a little overnight scoot searching for autumnal splendour but I am as excited about my morning walk as I am about mounting the mighty GS. I think?
