Sitting here eating my shredded wheat and blueberries and reading your Tuscan bread description has sort of wrecked the cereal…

As far as carrying stuff on the Vespa — a Google search of scooters in Asia will show some incredible carrying examples.

Ah...grocery runs, especially including bread, the best! For me, walking into the market and finding my timing was perfect for getting handed, say, a fresh-from-the-oven Tuscan loaf is near-heavenly, fighting the temptation to unwrap and pinch a bit to bite into...there's a reason photographs of people riding their bicycles home with a fresh baguette in their basket is all but de rigeur. And, even though my Vespa came sans racks or top-case, I still marvel how much I can easily carry, between the "pet carrier" and legshield loop/hook. Definitely puts the fun in function.

I really enjoy the contrast between your grand pictures and writing verses the scooter which is amongst the smallest bikes on the road.

For me Steve, the perfect “Saturday” ride, is a ride on any day, in any weather, hot or cold, rain or shine, going anywhere near or far, for a short or a long ride. Every ride I take is a perfect ride.
