I’m with you Don. I’ve had more than a few glasses of Vespa Kool-Aid.

Operator error is the story of my life. I can’t begin to tally all the things I’ve buggered up.

I wouldn’t want to ride anything tiny in heavy traffic. But in the lovely rural roads of home a 50cc machine is adequate for the meditative ride…

I’ll be in touch over the holiday break Craig. Maybe time and weather will allow another ride. If you found the ride impressive then I bet that carb problem was affecting the Survival while it was going.

You can find examples of failed machines of any make or model. I was just the victim of unfortunate circumstance. But I understand how people judge things — one failure and something is crossed off forever.

I meant non-riders don’t care about chrome.

And no one waves as I ride by on the Vespa either. The Motoped was unusual.

From a purely fiscal perspective it would be hard to become excited. But then the same comparison can be made between practically any motorcycle, auto, truck, home, camera, whatever. There’s always a less expensive alternative. Just depends on a person’s criteria for ownership I guess.

I’m still committed to the Vespa.
