In reply to dom. Definitely. I've ridden many times in freezing weather under gloomy skies and it's cold -- even when you stop. But at the same temperature with clear skies and sunshine it feels warm out.

In reply to RichardM. It was actually a bit chilly. Had my hooded sweatshirt on -- in the mid-50s or so. But the temperature quickly rises and it feels like summer again. But those chilly mornings signal something ahead.

I like the sun in Winter, always makes one feel warmer even when the landscape is snow-covered.

The ancient Celts/Britons had a belief that there was a mystical energy just around and after sunset and just around and before sunrise when the spirit world and the physical world touched. I can see how they would have thought such a thing.
