I think I’ve ridden pillion one time. That was enough. Never again. I trust no one that much. I seldom even get in an automobile that I’m not driving.

Since it was only about 10 blocks, I told him to hold onto the grab rails, and we rode as smoothly as I could at about 10-15 mph (think we were about 100 pounds over the weight limit, since I was about 20-stone at the time).

Only time I ever voluntarily rode pillion was with Jason Pridmore at STAR Motorcycle School, which is a whole different experience – being leaned over 45° in a 90-mph sweeping corner is better than a roller coaster.
