The red sidecar is one of Dave Hannigan's earliest streamlined sidecar; methinks produced here in Canada before he and Ruth-Ann and family movrd lock stock and barrel to Murray, Kentucky. That was years ago (25?). Bigger market stateside and none of the heavy taxation that we in Canada are noted for. The chair has been repainted with a few extra chrome bits as well. Hannigan uses a ladder frame versus a surround bumper frame such as Unit in the UK use.

Interesting design of the leading link front end.

And too there is lift as noted due to the low mass of the chair acting as a form of scoop which will lift the chair at high speed. Found my Hedingham XL made by Unit did the same thing at speed; it was paired with a Honda Goldwing with leading link forks.

BTW current petrol price here in Southern Ontario is C$1.34.9/litre for regular unleaded, mid-range and premium fuels are much much higher. Diesel is C$1.35/litre.

While a P-51 would be nice I would be perfectly happy with a spin in an F-15 or a Piper Cub. The F-15 could get to Carlisle in a hurry but not sure about landing in the parking lot...

Will -- is this your first comment posted on the blog? Woo hoo!

I'm partial to the Vespa, I admit it. I could get used to an airhead though... Ken Hull rides trials and I think those bikes were his. I kind of lose track.

Steve:

I know what you mean about having material to blog, but you don't get around to it. I also had stuff not posted but then I just moved on towards more current thoughts.

What luck that I am going to be so close to you next Wednesday. I'll check the parking lot and see if it's long enough for a temporary runway. Maybe that P-51 can come and get me. According to Google maps I am only 1 hr 38 min away

Like the 3 musketeers, "All for one", and we had one at the campsite we couldn't ignore. I wanted to go to but then my service was delayed
