So Junior is a stand in for the Vespa.

Mr. Riepe: While I have been out in the past two weeks riding is sparse. It’s just too bad for me. And I am getting weak and having more trouble with the cold. A friend calls is the sisification of me.

But I will be on the road before March. Even if it is with the scooter laying on its side….

I’m assuming you are riding these days, with the armor-plated snow tires? The tall trees that offer us great privacy from the neighbors screen the sun from the driveway, and the blocktop is a huge smear of ice. I am resolved to not riding until long after the middle of March.

It was so much easier having people just pick a print from a pile. Now the pressure is on me to pick the right one.

The dog is lying at my feet. He looks ready for another photo session. The room is dimly lit so it will call for ISO 12500.

Joe: Auto white balance and then just a slight curve adjustment in Photoshop. I had the exposure almost dead on in the camera. The histogram helps a lot when snow is involved.

These are things I learned not from my parents or siblings, or my wife, and certainly not from my kids, but from our late, loved, and sorely missed Golden Retriever, Taylor. So I agree with Jack, you’ll never take enough pictures of Junior.

Please be careful with the couch. I had to see the proctologist last week and he was horrified. My ass had taken in the exact imprint of a 72-inch sofa.
