Sojourner rides: Dogs and riding are similar in that they both must be experienced to appreciate and they both require a lot of training to do right.

Dear Mr. Riepe: What's this about a vigorous washdown? I have not washing my scooter in almost a year.

I thought BMW riders prided themselves on filthy bikes? Or was that minds??

Enlighten me.

Bob: This is the first winter since I have started riding again that I have chosen not to ride more often that ride. I know most of the decisions have been driven by the dog or work but I still decide to drive on days where I could ride.

I must be maturing.

Chuck: Junior is always thrilled to see me. Good for my ego. But he loves playing with all the dogs at doggy daycare. He's just beat when we get home.

We are going to a training class there in the evening and at one point we had to crate the dogs. I opened the door and he just raced in. "What's up with that?" I asked someone who worked there.

"When we crate them for their afternoon nap we give them chicken."

Junior never told me about the chicken. No wonder he likes the place.

Steve, Thank You for the very timely reminder, at the end of your Dog narrative, that when ..”the snow is piling up, … I CAN RIDE ANOTHER DAY.” I’ve managed to ride every day in December, all but one day in January, and since Feb.1st … some days I venture farther than others, … But I haven’t “dumped it”, YET!
