chessie: My willingness to brave the elements seems to ebb and flow depending on where my head is. I'm hoping I will do more brave things.

I've looked at the Bronson video a number of times now and it does keep working regardless of him running through salt water.

I checked your blog and the story about Mrytle Beach banning bike events is a good one. I don't know why it is so hard for riders to understand how annoying it can all be. And it doesn't have to be.

Conchscooter: Come on, quit bursting bubbles just because you are living and riding in balmy 57 degree weather! *grin*

I'm ready for some warm stuff.

Richard: Since you live in Alaska none of us can relate to things warming up to a balmy zero. Hope your 6 weeks of summer comes soon!

Seriously though, how cold does it get there?

Pvino: I've ridden Paul's bike and it is really, really tall. Even for me at almost 6'3". I suppose it would be more comfortable if I rode it a lot but as I think about it now I wouldn't want to use it off road much.

Tom: Sorry you were fooled. I did need a break but didn't need it to be permanent.

I was fooled,tricked and bambozzled. I quit reading Scooter in the Sticks around the latter part of April because you said you were done. I stopped my email notification and did not check back until today. What did I find, it has continued on in my absence. I am glad that I am back. Next time I am told that you are quitting I will not believe you so rapidly.

A BMW F650GS is my next bike. I need to have something of a dual nature so I can also enjoy the Coastline sandy roads. A Bonneville would be as nice and in the same price range but lacks the off-road capabilities.

Great video!
57 ° in Key West, eh. I was thrilled that our temperature got all the way up to 0°F today. Felt almost tropical! 50 degrees warmer than last week.

That peanut tank better be full before leaving Carmel Valley as you can easily go 90 miles without a functioning gas station after sunset along Big Sur. And take warm clothes as it is deceptively cold, foggy and damp.
Er sorry, back to the fantasy now…
And its scheduled to drop to 57 degrees Friday night in Key West. Will winter never end?

I've found myself willing to brave the elements around here...except for the 3.0 inches of rain we had for three days. After the rain, it was just misty days...the kind that seeps into your bones and makes you feel like rust has crept in and is making you stick in places you shouldn't be.

Yeah, that Bronson Video works well don't it? Except, it reminds me WHY my bones ache.

I'm not waiting for spring before I ride, but I sure am praying for it to come sooner rather than later!

Joe: I think I lulled myself into similar modes of thinking from the previous couple of winters that were relatively snow and ice free and I could ride all the time. Not so this year. I fear I fear a Battery Tender is in my future...

Orin: 50 degrees! Oh the joy of that thought. It's 23 degrees here and still patches of bad stuff around. And worse the forecast calls for more snow for the rest of the week and temperatures heading into the teens...

The weather forecast for Western Washington this week is mostly sunny and around 50. I guess someone decided a break from the frigid cold, snow, floods and pestilence was in order...

I'm thinking about going to Forks, Wash.
